If you look out of the window here in central Switzerland these days, things are quite clear. It’s winter, no doubt. Not to long ago though, things looked a bit different, while shooting in Valais near Visp - where else? - with Vinzenz Guntern. With hindsight we pokered pretty well by choosing that specific Saturday, then the day after there was 10cm of snow. But first things first. It’s a matter of common knowledge that the Valais is a biker’s paradise beyond comparison. And even though we’ve been here many times and shot a lot of things here, something new and cool always remains. Vinz chose a trail above Gampel from which the view reaches up to Goms in the east and down the Rhone valley in the west. That fact that Vinz spend the week before in bed because of fever was of interest for him and fullfilled all our wishes in front of the camera. Sacha Robert, who happens to live right around the corner, payed us a visit along with his Girlfriend Andrea and delighted the set with hot tea and focaccia. Things like these only happen there. After that it got a bit hectic because the sun was running away from us and the wheather forecast for the next day wasn’t very promising. So we were very happy, that we got everything we needed in just one day, since everything turned white on Sunday morning.
A few days ago Vinz called and said that his hand, which he broke quite some time ago, didn’t heal properly. Although everything stays put, due to the screws, but the bones didn’t grow back together. This results in Vinz going into surgery again and being forced to relinquish from his planned winter- i.e. summer-stay on the sounthern hemisphere in Australia. Get well soon Vinz!
